Immele, Betz Named NAIA All-America Scholar-Athletes
OLATHE, KAN. - Senior Katie Immele and junior Nicole Betz of the Park University softball team have been named Daktronics-NAIA All-America Scholar-Athletes for the 2007 season.

All-America Scholar-Athletes must be a junior or above in academic standing and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Immele, who earned the same honor in 2006, hit .360 this season with 15 RBI and 21 stolen bases en route to earning First-Team All-MCAC accolades.  The Grandview, Mo., native is an athletic training major with a 3.66 GPA.

Betz, a native of Maysville, Mo., was named Second-Team All-MCAC this season after hitting .425 with 16 RBI and 31 stolen bases.  A computer science major, she owns a 3.63 GPA.

The Park softball team posted an 18-28 overall record in 2007 and qualified for the MCAC Tournament for just the second time in school history.
