PARKVILLE, Mo. – The Park University women’s basketball team will honor five seniors this Saturday afternoon as they host Hannibal-LaGrange University at 2 p.m. on Senior Day.
Saturday marks the final regular season home game at the Breckon Sports Center and five minutes before the tip-off, Park will honor seniors Nicole Wilhite, Kristian Dodds, Dominique Hayes, Oasha White and Halima Ramsey.
Park enters the game winners of seven of its last eight games, all in the conference and sport an 18-6 overall record and third-place record of 8-5 in the AMC.
Park defeated HLG last time out on the road handily, 75-48 and shutdown the Trojans leading scorer Ashley Wilson to just four points on 2-of-8 shooting.
At the time, Wilson was the two-time defending AMC Player of the Week. She still leads in scoring and rebounding at 15.2 points and 9.5 rebounds per game.
Vivian Holcomb is still the Pirates team leader in scoring at 11.9 per game, but teammate Brianna Beridon is quickly approaching her, averaging 10.5 points per game after scoring in double figures in seven straight games.
Hayes has been a solid contributor off the bench, averaging seven rebounds a game and 7.1 points per game.
Park’s offense has really picked up in its last seven wins, averaging 70.7 per game in those victories. For the season, Park is scoring 65.5 points per game.
Defensively, the Pirates are surrendering just 53.3 points per contest, which ranks them in the Top 10 in the NAIA Division I.
Holcomb and White are now tied for the team lead in assists with 52 and Danila Fabbri leads Park in blocked shots with 26.
