2009 – Cordell was named to the 2009 MCAC Second-Team for her outstanding play at first base for the Pirates as a freshman…Started and appeared in all 40 games for the Pirates…Went 1-for-4 with an RBI in Park’s first ever NAIA National Tournament game against Friends University…Had two home runs in the 2009 MCAC Conference Tournament, both coming on the same day, the first in Park’s 7-2 victory over College of Saint Mary and Park’s huge victory over Bellevue, 5-2, which helped propel Park into the National Tournament…Cordell hit .328 on the season with three home runs and six doubles…She was third on the team in RBI with 26 and second on the squad in slugging-percentage at .451…Defensively Cordell was stellar with her team leading 268 putouts and posted a .986 fielding percentage, only committing four errors the entire season.
PERSONAL - Jennifer Lynn Cordell is the daughter of Rita and Lynn Cordell…Has one older brother Eric (22), who was an NAIA All-American Pitcher at Ottawa University…Enjoys reading and playing softball in her free time…Was also recruited by Ottawa University and Augustana College…Attended Holton High School where she lettered in Volleyball and Softball and was named Valedictorian of her class…Majoring in Mathematics at Park…Chose Park University for its great academics and the athletic department.
