#17 | Emily Calder | C | R/R | Jr. | Olathe, Kan.

2009 – One of the leaders for Park in 2009, Calder appeared and started in all 40 games for the Pirates at Catcher…Led the team in batting average at .440, and tied for the team lead in runs scored with 32…Also had a team high 59 hits and was second on the team in doubles with 10…Calder led all Pirates in runs batted in with 30 and total bases with 78…For her efforts she was named to the 2009 MCAC First-Team…She was also first on the team in slugging percentage at .582 and on base percentage at .490…Calder was stellar behind the plate as well, in 40 games she didn’t commit a single error and registered 185 putouts…Calder also belted three home runs on the year, her first came on Mar. 19 at home against Rockhurst, the second came on Apr. 10 on the road at College of St. Mary, while the third and final blast came on the road at MidAmerica Nazarene on Apr. 20.

2008 – Hit .309 as a freshman and drove in 16 RBI…Appeared in 43 games and started 41 in split time behind the plate with Megan Goings… Went to the plate 110 times and had 34 hits…Belted one home run and hit five doubles…Her home run came against College of Saint Mary on April 26 in an MCAC battle…Had a season high two RBI against Haskell Indian Nations on April 15…Had four games in which she had three hits including March 25 against Rockhurst University, April 19 against Central Christian, April 26 against College of St. Mary and May 9 against Bellevue.

PERSONAL - Emily Calder was born to Mary and Scott Calder in Olathe, Kan…Has one older brother Clayton, (23)…Enjoys spending time with friends, family and playing softball…Graduated from Olathe South High School in 2007 where she helped lead the softball squad to a third place finish at the 6A State Tournament…Earned All-League, All-City and All-Conference honors…Was an All-State selection in track as  well…Majoring in Athletic Training…Chose Park for its stellar Athletic Training program along with the chance to play for Coach Reif....Earned the Presidential Scholar award at Olathe South and was a member of the National Honor Society.
