2009 – One of three Pirates to make an appearance for Park in their first ever NAIA National Tournament run, Johnson picked up six wins on the year and had the second lowest ERA on the squad at 3.21…The 5-9 righty made 15 appearances and struck out 29 batters in 67 2/3 innings…Johnson was also the only member of the 2009 squad to be named to the 2009 MCAC Honorable mention team…Also had eight appearances at the plate, picking up three hits for a batting average of .375…She drove in two runs on the year and scored three times…Picked up her first win on the road against Central Methodist on March 5, throwing seven innings, giving up just three earned runs on seven hits…The next day, Johnson picked up win number two against Missouri Valley in a close 2-1 ballgame…Johnson collected her final win of the year on the road at Benedictine on April 22 in a 5.1 inning performance in which she gave up just two earned runs.
2008 – Started 20 games and had 31 appearances in ’08, with 15 complete games…Collected one shutout against Central Christian back on April 19, struck out five batters and gave up only one walk in that 8-0 victory over Central Christian…Pitched a team high 155.1 innings and posted a .429 ERA on the year…Led the team with 73 strikeouts and batters only hit .279 against the righty…Also collected four saves in ’08…Picked up her first career win against Central Methodist on March 12...Pitched a two-hit complete game against Haskell Indian Nations on April 15.
PERSONAL- Brittany Nicole Johnson was born to parents Kirk and Tammy Johnson in Kearney, Mo.…Has three siblings Nathan (13), Sydney and Dylan (10)…Majoring in Business Administration and Marketing…Attended Kearney High School where she helped lead the Bulldogs to a 3A State Championship in 2006 and earned All-State honors...Also earned All-District, All-Conference and All-Metro honors for the Bulldogs…Also a member of the National Honor Society at Kearney…Also attended Northwest Missouri State University in the Fall of 2007.
