Michael Frey begins his ninth year as head athletic trainer at Park University, coming to the Pirates after a one-year stint as the head athletic trainer at Centennial High School in Peoria, Ariz.

Frey owns a bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University in 1994, and he completed his master’s degree in 2002 from the University of Kansas.

A native of Silver Lake, Kan., and member of Silver Lake’s 1989 Class 3A state champion football team, Frey began his career in sports medicine as the Industrial Program Director at the Rehability Center in Kansas City, Kan., staying in that role from 1994 to 1998.

In 1998, Frey landed his first position in a collegiate athletics setting, serving as athletic trainer at Avila University from 1998-2000.

Frey returned to his alma mater in 2000, where he served as the Intramural Sports Medicine Director at Kansas State University until 2002, prior to going to Centennial High.
