2008 -
2008 MCAC Freshman of the Year recipient Robert Palmer appeared and started in 17 games at defender for Park University in 2008. Palmer scored his first collegiate goal against Benedictine College on September 17th off of a corner kick. The Kingston, Jamaica native attempted ten shots for Park this season and helped lead the Pirate defense to six shutout victories and seven shutouts overall this season. Palmer was named the MCAC Defensive Player of the Week, for the week ending October 27, for his spectacular play in two shutout victories against then No. 3 ranked Southern Nazarene and Central Christian College.

PERSONAL - Robert Palmer was born Jan. 15…son of Levi and Donna Palmer…played for head coaches David Hunt and Alfred Henry… team accomplishments included Manning Cup Champions at the Disney Tournament as a U-15 and Oliver Shield Champions at Calabar High School and Jamaica College in 2005 and 2007…voted most valuable player and best defender…has appeared in a Premier League play-off, crowned champions of youth age group league as a U-13, U-15, U-17 and U-20 (Jamaica)…team earned champions of all schools (Jamaica) against Trinidad and Tobago…nicknamed Berto and Dunga…likes to listen to music and socialize…chose Park to further education and play soccer…plans to major in business management.
