2008 -
Only playing in his first year of collegiate soccer, freshman Ramone Palmer was a vital part to the success of Park University’s offense in 2008. Palmer finished second on the team in total points with 23 and third on the team in goals scored with eight. For his phenomenal season he was named to the 2008 Brine-NAIA All-American Honorable Mention team and was honored as the 2008 MCAC Newcomer of the Year. The Kingston, Jamaica native also registered a team high seven assists on the year along with 40 shots, which was good for third most for Park. Palmer also supplied Park with one game winning shot on the year and appeared and started in 17 games for the Pirates in 2008. Palmer also sported a .200 shot percentage on the year, which was the third best percentage of any Pirate.

PERSONAL - Ramone Palmer was born Jan. 27 in Kingston, Jamaica…son of Michelle Grant…played for head coach David Hunt and Alfred Henry…played for Calabar High School and Jamaica College…team accomplishments include Manning Cup Champions and Olivier Shield Champions at Calabar High School and Jamaica College in 2005 and 2007…was a junior national player and leading goal scorer…enjoys watching television and hanging out with friends in spare time…nicknamed Palma…chose Park to further his studies and play soccer…plans to major in sports journalism...Despite the same last name and same hometown as teammate Robert Palmer, the two Pirates are not related but are very good friends.
