Indoor 2009- Arguably one of the best sprinters in the nation last season, James qualified for the NAIA Indoor National Championship meet in Johnson City, Tenn. in the 60-meter. James placed fourth in his heat at Nationals, with a time of 6.99, but did not qualify for the Championship heat...James consistently ran well throughout the indoor season, running his fastest 60-meter race of the year at the Mule Relays, with a time of 6.93...James also competed in the 55-meter and 200-meter events througout the season.
Outdoor 2009 - In just his first outdoor season with the Pirates, James qualified for the 2009 NAIA Outdoor National Championship meet held in St. Louis, Mo...James qualified in the ultra competive 100-meter race and qualified for the semifinal heat, placing seventh in his heat, in a time of 10.92...James also finished first in the Missouri Southern Invitational on April 24, with a time of 10.53, which was also his fastest time of the year...The native of Trinidad, also ran the fastest 200-meter time of any Pirate last season with a time of 22.02 at the Missouri Southern Invitational.
Personal- Born on January 18, 1987…a native of Trinidad and Tabago…has one sibling…enjoys playing pool, listening to music and drag racing…majoring in Sociology...previously attended NCAA Divison I Washington State University.
