Indoor 2009 - In just his second year with the Pirates, Conkling consistently ran well in the 1500-meter race, placing ninth with a time of 4:30.58, at the Highland Invitational on January 31...He also ran the fastest 5000-meter time of any Pirate, with a time of 16:37.04, good for 18th Place at the Mule Relays.
Outdoor 2009 - Placed second in the 3000-meter steeplechase at the Darrel Gourley Open back on April 4, with a time of 10:25.17...Finshed a respectable, 11th in the 10,000-meter run on April 17 at the Mule Relays.
Cross Country 2008 - Consistently leading the men’s team all season long, Conkling was awarded the MCAC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Year award for his 1st place finish in the MCAC/NAIA National Qualifying meet on November 7, 2008... In the first meet of the season at the Bob Timmons Classic in Lawrence, Kan., Conkling led all Pirates with a time of 28:09 and a 44th place finish... In one of the elite races in the country, the Southern Stampede in Joplin, Mo., Conkling ran a time or 27:21 and finished 67th, which led all Park runners on the day...Conkling led Park to a second-place team finish at the Haskell Invitational back on October 11, with a second-place individual time of 27:09...Led Park to a sixth-place finish out of 14 teams at the Jock’s Nitch Invitational race in Emporia, Kan. back on October 3.
Cross Country 2007- As a freshman, placed eighth at the MCAC meet…Finished 25th at the Baker University Invitational.
Indoor 2008 - Finished 14th in the 3000 meter run with a time of 9:44.16, at the Jayhawk Classic.
Outdoor 2008 - Placed second in the 5,000 meter run at the Northwest Missouri State Invitational, with a time of 16:24.50…Ran a season best 16:19.17, in the 5,000 meter run at the Kansas Relays.
Personal - Born January 4, 1989 to Kevin and Marnie Conkling…favorite hobbies include mountain biking, hiking and studying civil war history…has three siblings…majoring in Communications with an emphasis in Print-Journalism…earned All-Conference and All-District honors in 2006 at Smithville High School.
