The 2007-08 Park University Spirit Squad helped get things fired up at the 2008 Pirate Club Annual Meeting May 5 at the NAIA Headquarters in Downtown Kansas City. The squad found time to stop for a photo with outgoing Pirate Club President Jinny McCoy and Park University President Dr. Beverley Byers-Pevitts during the event.

  In November 2005, the Park University department of athletics conducted a vote of students nationwide to name the school's new mascot.  At halftime of the Park men's basketball game against rival William Jewell College on Nov. 29, 2005, Sir George made his debut. 

Sir George draws his name from Park University founder Colonel George S. Park, who founded Park College in 1875.
