Park, which was making its first appearance in the NAIA national tournament final since winning the 2003 championship, finishes the year with a 30-3 record. The Pirates had won 19-straight matches before tonight's loss.
Against California Baptist, sophomore Henry Uribe (La Guaira, Venezuela) led the Pirates with 12 kills. Junior J.P. da Silva (Minas Gerais, Brazil) compiled 32 assists in the loss.
As a team, Park hit just .100 in the match compared to a .398 hitting percentage by California Baptist.
At the conclusion of the match, da Silva and junior Ryan Stafford (San Ramon, Calif.) were named to the All-Tournament Team, while Park head coach Cory Frederick was tabbed NAIA Coach of the Year.
