QUINCY, Ill. – Erick Albuquerque had a phenomenal 25 kills and a hitting percentage of .439 to lead Park University over Hannibal-LaGrange College, 3-1, (30-24,30-27, 26-30, 37-35) Friday night.
Erick Albuquerque had 42 kills in two matches on Friday.
Park then took on Quincy University at 8:00 p.m. in Quincy, Ill., losing to QU, 3-1. Park is now 16-6 overall on the year and 10-1 in MAMVIC West play.
Fray Luis Fajardo Arteaga had 17 kills of his own and hit .342 and the Pirates hit a stellar .390 as a team. Oskar Soderlund had eight kills, Jake Penolio had seven and Luis Zepeda had 13.
Penolio had a hitting percentage of .545 in the middle hitting position and had three blocks on the night as well.
Philip Heckmann supplied Park with 46 assist in three games and Felix Horn came in the third game and collected 19 assists of his own.
In game two, Park lost to Quincy University also in four games, (22-30, 34-32, 33-35, 25-30).
Albuquerque again led Park in kills for the second straight match, posting 19 kills. Zepeda also had 14 kills in just three games.
Heckmann finished the match with 44 digs, leading the Pirates for the second straight match.
Park will now take on Missouri Baptist tomorrow at noon on the campus of Quincy University and Limestone College at 2:00 p.m. also at Quincy.
