PARKVILLE, Mo. – Park University’s Philip Heckmann was named this week’s NAIA Setter of the Week, after leading the Pirates to a 5-1 record last week.

The 6-0 sophomore averaged 12.3 assists per game on the week and 1.5 digs per game. Heckmann is the team leader in service aces with 29 and is second on the squad in assists with 284.
The Pirates went 5-1 last week, sweeping Johnson and Wales in two matches at home and swept opponents, St. Xavier, Moody Bible and Siena Heights at the St. Ambrose Invitational tournament over the weekend.
The only loss for the Pirates came on Friday afternoon to NCAA Division II opponent Grand Canyon University in straight sets.
Park’s other starting setter, Felix Horn, has been the recipient of the NAIA Setter of the Week award twice this season.
The Pirates next match will take place on March 19 at 4:00 p.m. against MAMVIC West opponent Hannibal-LaGrange.
