PARKVILLE, Mo. – The Park University men’s volleyball team will look to keep its perfect record in MAMVIC West play as they take on defending NAIA National Invitational Tournament Champion Lindenwood University this Saturday, Feb. 13 at 4:00 p.m. inside the Breckon Sports Center.
Freshman Kalani Rose has appeared in 16 games for Park this season.
Saturday’s match will mark the home opener for the Pirates. Park and Lindenwood squared off back on Jan. 20 in St. Charles, Mo. with the Pirates coming out victorious in a 3-2 victory, (30-28, 30-26, 27-30, 23-30, 15-8).
The Pirates are a perfect 3-0 in MAMVIC West play and 5-2 overall on the season. Their only two losses coming to No. 1 California Baptist and No. 7 ranked St. Ambrose.
Lindenwood is 5-5 on the year and 2-1 in conference play. The Lions picked up a MAMVIC West win last time out on Feb. 9 against Hannibal-LaGrange, 3-0.
Park’s freshman setter, Felix Horn is currently the NAIA National Setter of the Week and leads the Pirates in assists with 322. He is also among the team leaders in digs with 42.
Fray Luis Fajardo Arteaga continues to lead the Pirates in kills, as he has collected 90 on the year, he had 13 kills against the Lions back on Jan. 20.
Freshman Zach Penolio averages 3.07 kills per game and has 86 kills on the year. The 6-3 outside hitter had an incredible game against the Lions back in January, in his collegiate debut, Penolio collected a team high 19 kills and was the team leader in digs with 17.
Taylor Morrill leads the way for LU in the kills department with 150, while Mike Emerick leads the Lions in digs with 155.

HORN WINS NATIONAL SETTER OF THE WEEK AWARD
Park’s freshman setter Felix Horn was named this week’s NAIA Setter of the Week for his stellar play against Missouri Valley last week. The freshman out of Biberg, Germany averaged 12.75 assists and two digs per game a week ago.
Horn now has 303 assists on the year and is third on the squad in digs with 40. Horn is averaging 12.12 assists this season and has played in 25 of Park’s 26 games this season.
He also has 12 kills and five service aces in 2010 and is third on the team in total blocks with 16.
