LAMONI, Iowa – For the first time this season, Park University picked up a sweep against an opponent in a 3-0 win over Graceland University Tuesday night.
Philip Heckmann had 13 assists against Graceland on Tuesday night.
Park won in straight sets, 30-26, 30-21, 30-23 to improve its overall record to 5-2 and a perfect 3-0 in MAMVIC West play. Graceland falls to 3-6 on the year and 0-2 in conference play.
“Everyone really contributed to this win tonight,” head coach Rick Mischka said. “We should be proud of the way we played, we came up here and got a great road win.”
Fray Luis Fajardo Arteaga and Zach Penolio again led the way for Park in kills, as Arteaga finished the night with 10 and Penoilio added eight. Arteaga had a hitting percentage of .529 and Penolio hit, .333.
Felix Horn and Philip Heckmann split time at setter tonight, as Horn finished the night on top with a team high 19 assists, while Heckmann had 13.
Park will open up the home portion of its schedule this Saturday afternoon as they take on defending NAIA National Champion Lindenwood University at 4:00 p.m. inside the Breckon Sports Center.
