ST. CHARLES, Mo. - The second-ranked Park University men's volleyball team knocked off St. Ambrose for the second time in six days Friday, pounding the No. 6 Bees 3-0 (30-17, 30-18, 30-26) in the Pirates' first match at the 2008 Lindenwood University Invitational.
Park (3-0) was led offensively by Henry Uribe, who had 12 kills, while J.P. da Silva contributed 29 assists from his setting position.
St. Ambrose fell to 2-2.
Park opened the match with a 30-17 win in game one, and the Pirates came back with a 30-18 victory to take a 2-0 lead in the contest.
Lindenwood made a push in game three, but the Pirates shut the door on the afternoon match by four, winning the final game 30-26.
Ryan Stafford added nine kills in Park's third-straight win, and da Silva led the Pirates at the service line with five aces.
Park continues play at the Lindenwood Invitational this evening against Cardinal Stritch, with first serve set for 5 p.m. in St. Charles.
