Despite setting the new school record, Nicolls placed sixth in her heat and did not qualify for the finals tomorrow.
Park’s Sadiki James also ended his track season on Friday, as he ran a time of 10.92 in the 100-meter semifinal heat which was good for seventh place in his heat and not quite quick enough for the final on Friday evening.
The Pirates final competitor on the day was senior Erycka Fisher. The Kansas City, Mo. native ran in the 400-meter hurdle semifinal heat and finished in fifth-place in her heat with a time of 1:03.22, which was not quick enough to qualify for the finals tomorrow.
Friday marked Fisher’s final competition as a Pirate, the 2009 Outdoor National Championships also marked Fisher’s fourth consecutive National Championship qualification.
