Track & Field Results
WARRENSBURG, MO. --
The Park University track and field team posted three more automatic
qualifying times at the CMSU Classic Friday in Warrensburg, Mo.
Freshman Erycka Fisher (Kansas City, Mo.) earned an
automatic bid to nationals in the 600-yard run with a time of 1:30.37,
while sophomore Keyon Harrison (Kansas City, Mo.) automatically
qualified for the NAIA National Meet in the 400-meter dash (58.39).
Fisher, Harrison, along with senior Reagan Mackey
(Nassau, Bahamas) and sophomore Sara Pitia (Independence, Mo.) teamed up
to win the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:02.45, qualifying the
relay team for nationals.
The NAIA National Indoor Championships will be held
March 9-11 in Johnson City, Tenn.

PIRATES FARE WELL AT GRACELAND MINI-OPEN
LAMONI, IOWA --
The Park University track and field team posted one automatic and three
provisional qualifying times at the Graceland University Mini-Open
Sunday in Lamoni, Iowa.
Sophomore Keyon Harrison (Kansas City, Mo.) earned an
automatic bid to the NAIA National Indoor Meet with a leap of 5.47
meters in the long jump. Harrison, along with senior Reagan
Mackey (Nassau, Bahamas), also qualified provisionally in the 400-meter
dash.
On the men's side, freshman Jeramie Burns (Perris,
Calif.) posted a provisional qualifying time in the 55-meter hurdles
(8.02 seconds).
The Pirates close out their indoor season on Friday
when they travel to Warrensburg, Mo., for the CMSU Classic.

PITIA LEADS PIRATES AT KU INVITATIONAL
LAWRENCE, KAN. -- Sophomore Sara Pitia of the Park University track and
field team earned an automatic bid to the NAIA National Indoor
Championships with a third-place finish in the 1,000-meter run at the KU
Invitational Saturday afternoon in Lawrence, Kan.
Pitia, a native of Independence, Mo., posted a time of
3:04.62 to set a new school record and earn the trip to nationals.
Sophomore Keyon Harrison (Kansas City, Kan.) and
freshman Erycka Fisher (Kansas City, Mo.) qualified provisionally for
the national meet in the 400-meter and 600-yard dashes, respectively.
On the men's side, freshman Arries Scott (Kansas City,
Mo.) also qualified provisionally, taking ninth in the 200-meter dash.
The Pirates will return to the track Sunday, Feb. 12,
at the Graceland University Mini-Open in Lamoni, Iowa, starting at 10
a.m.

PIRATES OPEN INDOOR SEASON WITH STRONG SHOWING
AT GRACELAND OPEN
LAMONI, IOWA -- The Park University men's and women's track and field
teams opened the 2006 indoor season by winning nine total events at the
Graceland University Open Friday night in Lamoni, Iowa.
"Overall, the kids did great," said head coach Brian
Renshaw. "I'm really happy with the performance for this being our
first meet."
The Pirates continue its season on Jan. 28 at the
Jayhawk Invitational in Lawrence, Kan.

WHITE EARNS ALL-AMERICA HONORS WITH THIRD-PLACE
FINISH AT NATIONALS
LOUISVILLE, KY. -- Senior Roger White of the Park University track and
field team finished third in the 5,000-meter Race Walk to earn his second
career All-America honor over the weekend at the 2005 NAIA Outdoor Track
and Field Championships in Louisville, Ky.
White, a native of Ft. Collins, Colo., clocked a time
of 26:53.51 to earn the Pirates six team points, which placed Park in a
tie for 39th in the final men's standings.
Freshman Endashaw Yimer (Sashamane, Ethiopia) also made
the trip to nationals, taking 14th place in the 10,000 meters with a time
of 32:01.73.

PARK WOMEN'S 4X400 RELAY TAKES FIRST AT UMKC
INVITE
KANSAS CITY, MO. -- The Park University women's 4x400 meter relay squad
took first place at the UMKC Invitational Saturday afternoon in Kansas
City, Mo.
The relay squad ran a time of 4:05.67, which edged out NCAA
Division I schools UMKC and Wichita State.
On the men's side, freshman Endashaw Yimer (Sashamane,
Ethiopia) took second in the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:05.10.
Up next, the Park track and field squads will participate in
the Emporia State Last Chance meet Saturday, May 14, in Emporia, Kan.

YIMER EARNS AUTOMATIC BERTH TO NATIONALS AT
WILLIAM JEWELL INVITE
LIBERTY, MO. -- Freshman Endashaw Yimer of the Park University men's track
and field team posted an automatic qualifying time in the 10,000 meters at
the William Jewell Invitational Saturday to earn a trip to nationals.
Yimer, a native of Sashamane, Ethiopia, won the event
with a time of 31:38.81 to clinch a berth in the national meet May 26-28
in Louisville, Ky.
As a team, the men's squad finished fifth with 67
points, while the women took fourth with 61 points.
Junior Reagan Mackey (Nassau, Bahamas) and freshman
Sara Pitia (Independence, Mo.) each captured individual event titles on
the women's side. Mackey took first in the 400 meters with a time of
58.42, while Pitia placed first in the 800 meters (2:23.79) and finished
second in the 1,500 meters (5:00.81).
In addition Saturday, senior Roger White (Ft. Collins,
Colo.) took second place at the Lindenwood University Invitational 3,000
meter Race Walk to earn an automatic trip to nationals with a time of
14:47.25.
Park returns to team competition Saturday, April 30, at
the UMKC Invitational in Kansas City, Mo.
