KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Senior Sean Kosednar and junior Adam Tayani were named 2008 Daktronics-NAIA Men’s Soccer Scholar-Athletes, announced Friday morning.

264 student-athletes received the prestigious honor and over 100 schools were represented with Westminster (Utah) College claiming the most individual awards with 11 on the list.
In order to be a recipient of the NAIA-Daktronics Scholar-Athlete award, one must fulfill these requirements: the recipient must be a junior or above in academic standing; has been in attendance at the nominating institution a minimum of one full year of attendance; has a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 (on a 4.0 scale) at the time of nomination at the nominating institution; has been certified as eligible.
The recipients are listed alphabetically by school. These student-athletes were officially submitted from individual schools to the NAIA-MSCA Scholar-Athlete Coordinator.
Kosednar is a native of Overland Park, Kan. and came to Park from Blue Valley High School in 2005. With his outstanding work in the classroom, Kosednar has been selected as an NAIA Scholar-Athlete two years in a row.
The 5-11 goalkeeper is a Broadcasting major and started 10 games for Park in his career, collecting 28 saves. In 2008, Sean had one start on the season against Central Christian.
In 2006, Kosednar started four games logging 503 minutes of play and posted a 4-0 record.
Tayani, an International Business major, was one of only two players for Park to appear and start in all 18 games in 2008. The 5-11 midfielder scored one goal and collected one assist on the year. Tayani also registered 16 shots in 2008.
Like his teammate Kosednar, Tayani has also been selected an NAIA Scholar-Athlete for two consecutive seasons.
In the 2007 season, Tayani appeared in 17 games and started in six. He scored three goals on the year and locked in two assists, for eight total points. Tayani took ten shots on the year, placing six on frame for a .600 shot-on-goal percentage.
