The Park University men's and women's basketball media guide was named the seventh-best combined basketball publication in the Association by NAIA-SIDA in 2008-09.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Park University men’s and women’s basketball media guide earned postseason accolades over the weekend, being named the seventh-best combined hoops publication in the NAIA, according to the NAIA-SIDA publications committee in conjunction with the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) convention in San Antonio, Texas.

Park’s 2008-09 basketball publication was written, edited and designed by the Park University sports information office, which includes sports information director and men’s basketball contact Steve Wilson, and assistant sports information director Tyler Price, who serves as the Pirates’ women’s basketball information officer.

The guide included a wealth of historical knowledge and preseason information on both basketball squads, including player bios, opponent information, coaching staff profiles and a complete University and community profile for Park University and Parkville, Mo.

The contest, which was coordinated by Union (Ky.) assistant SID Gene Renfro, was won by Oklahoma Christian  University, followed by Southern Nazarene, Saint Francis (Ind.), Ottawa, College of Idaho, Marian, Park, Oklahoma City, Saint Xavier and Rogers State.

Saint Francis added an additional honor, having its publication’s cover named Best Cover by the NAIA-SIDA combined basketball voting panel.

In 2007-08, the Park basketball media guide also earned postseason recognition, being named eighth-best in the NAIA.

Wilson and Price were also involved in an additional contest, as Wilson coordinated the Women’s Basketball Brochure contest as a member of the NAIA-SIDA publications committee, while Price served as a contest judge for the women’s basketball contest during the spring semester.
