2009-10 – Played in eight games, scoring 15 points to average nearly two points per game…Top scoring game came against William Woods, where he had four points…Also had three points against Columbia…Hit 6-of-12 attempts from the floor and averaged 3.5 minutes per game…Hit one basket from outside the arc, going 1-for-1 on his 3-point attempts at home against Columbia in February…Had one steal, four blocked shots and two assists on the year…PERSONAL – Rudy Edward Harper, Jr., was born in St. Charles, Mo., and is the son of Margaret and Rudy Harper…Has one sibling, Marlie (22)…An uncle, Michael Harper, played for the Portland Trail Blazers in 1980…Played high school basketball with current Pirate teammate Mark Halsell at St. Charles High School under head coach Gary Wacker…Team advanced to the Missouri state semifinals in 2007…Was the team’s leader in steals and second-leading scorer…Also a high school teammate of University of Kentucky post player Josh Harrellson…Off the court, was involved with DECA and FLBA…Played AAU basketball for Team Excalibur…Played two seasons to begin his collegiate career at Mount Marty College in Yankton, S.D., for head coach James Thorson…Led the conference in steals and the team in scoring at 11.7 points per game in his second season with the Lancers…Had three double-digit scoring outings as a freshman and in his sophomore season, posted 18 double-digit performances…Had five 20-point outings as a sophomore, including a career-high 24 against Saint Francis (Ill.)…At Mount Marty, was involved on campus in the student government association, campus programming and the strategic planning committee for the campus, which was an appointment from Mount Marty’s college president…Donates personal time to Boys and Girls Clubs and the Parkside Retirement Home in St. Charles…Away from the court enjoys computers, spending time with family and traveling…Is a broadcast communications major.
