– Averaged 11.0 points and 6.1 rebounds per game, appearing in 30 contests with 28 starts…First double-figure scoring game of the year came against McKendree with 17 points…Had his first career double-double on Jan. 3 at Missouri Baptist with 15 points and 10 rebounds, and followed it a game later against Bellevue with 14 points and 12 boards…Career-high scoring night came at Peru State with 21 points along with a career-high nine field goals made, and his final double-double of the year was at Rockhurst, scoring 15 with 11 rebounds…In all, had 17 double-digit scoring games and three double-doubles…Was a 46.9-percent shooter from the floor and knocked down 83 free-throw attempts, shooting 75.5-percent from the stripe…Finished the year with 331 total points and 182 rebounds…Averaged 30.6 minutes per game, playing in all 40 minutes of a win at home over Illinois-Springfield to headline a list of 21 games with 30 or more minutes played…Also hit six 3-point baskets during the season, including a pair of triples at UIS…Knocked down nine free throws on two occasions – at Missouri Baptist and at Rockhurst – and also had a pair of eight free-throw games including an 8-for-8 performance at the line against College of the Ozarks…Finished the year with 10 blocked shots, 48 assists and 46 steals… PERSONAL – Herschel Rodgers was born in Lansing, Mich., and is the son of Denise Rodgers and Herschel Rodgers...Has three siblings and a son, Isaiah...Played high school basketball with Park teammate Nathan Duncan at Waverly High School for Craig Fields...Won the team defense award in 2004 and team MVP in 2005, when he was the squad’s leading rebounder...Was also first-team all-conference in 2005...Went on to play at Lansing Community College for head coach Mike Ingram, where the team won conference championships in 2006 and 2007, along with a region title in 2006...Was named to the NJCAA Region XII all-tournament team as well as all conference in 2007...Was the team’s MVP in 2007 and Mr. Hustle in 2006...Set the team’s consecutive free-throws made record, knocking down 17-straight during the 2006-07 season...Chose Park over Wayne State and Saginaw Valley State...Enjoys sleeping and spending time with family...Dedicated the 2008-09 season to a late-friend, Michael Hunter.
