2009-10 – Had 30 starts and played in all 33 games for the Pirates, averaging 7.6 points and 2.3 rebounds per game…Had 53 steals on the year, including five in a win at home over William Woods…Had 12 double-digit scoring outings, including a career-high 19 points at Missouri Baptist in a 23-point win over the Spartans…Also had 18 points at William Woods and in the NAIA national tournament, scored 11 points in the team’s season-ending loss to No. 6 Biola…had his top rebounding performance at home against Hannibal-LaGrange, grabbing seven rebounds, followed by a six-rebound game seven days later at McKendree…Finished the year with 49 assists, including a career-high six against Hannibal-LaGrange…Added to his defensive season with eight blocked shots…PERSONAL – Goldeng Bafel Deng was born in Sudan, and lists Stone Mountain, Ga., as his home town…Parents are Bafel Deng and Rebecca Duwag…Mother works for a cake company, father is a pastor…Played high school basketball at Avondale High School for Blue Devils’ head coach Davis…Graduated from AHS in 2004…Played junior college basketball at Southeast Nebraska Community College for head coach Joel Wooten…Averaged 7.3 points per game and 3.4 rebounds per contest for the Storm as a senior.
