More about Coach Talamantes...

  • Also serves as head coach of Asics MAVS, a club in Kansas City where he's trained multiple NCAA Divison I athletes and won a Junior National championship in 2013.
  • Also coached an All-American at Occidental, as sophomore outside hitter Logan Boyer-Hayse was an AVCA All-American at season's end, after earning MVP honors at the Tiger Fall Classic, All-Tournament at Colorado College's Marriott Spike It Up Classic, First-Team All-SCIAC and First-Team All-West Region.

Rob Cordero

Bio

Rob Cordero is back for his fourth season on the Park bench after a standout career as a setter in the men's volleyball program from 2011 to 2014.

As a player, Cordero left Park with more assists than any setter in school history, totaling 4,384, as well as 230 kills, 94 aces and 567 digs. In his role as assistant coach, Cordero works primarily with the Pirates' setters in both the men's and women's programs. In his career, he averaged 10.49 assists per set.

Cordero was married April 16, 2016, to former Park University cheerleader Julie Dolezilek, a veterinary assistant in Fairway. The couple resides in Kansas City, Missouri.
