ST. LOUIS, Mo. Niamh O'Dea scored her first goal of the season in the 18th minute of the game to get Park off on the right foot. Emma Chatterton assisted O'Dea's goal. Park opened up American Midwest Conference play on the road as they headed to St. Louis, Missouri, to take on St. Louis College of Pharmacy. The Pirates (3-2, 1-0 AMC) beat the Eutectics (2-2, 0-1 AMC) 5-0. 


"It was a good game for us," said head coach Ken Hefner. "We got to work on a lot of situations with game pressure."


In the 37th minute, Gabi Severns found Isabel Sullivan to score the second goal of the game for the Pirates. Park led STLCOP 2-0, with eight minutes left in the game. Six minutes later, Sullivan found Taylor Buckholz to score the third goal of the game. At the end of the first half, the Pirates led the Eutectics 3-0. Park outshot STLCOP 16 to zero with 10 shots on goal.


Eight minutes into the second half, Severns scored a goal to put the Pirates up 4-0 over the Eutectics. Kerinne Murry scored her first goal as a Pirate in the 80th minute of the game. The Pirates outshot the Eutectics 11 to one with six of the shots on goal.


Alyssa Gregory got the win in the net for Park only playing in the first half. Her teammate, Mercedes Daniels, came into the net for the second half. The Eutectics' Kylee Lewis got the loss in the net. She allowed five goals and made 11 saves in the net for STLCOP.


"We were very responsive tonight playing a smart game," said Hefner. "Another step up in our evolution as a team."


The Pirates will return to Julian Field on Saturday, September 15, as they host Central Baptist College in an AMC game on Homecoming. There will be live stats and live video available at The start time is set for 12 p.m.
