LEAVENWORTH, Kan. – The Park University women's soccer team is heading to Leavenworth, Kansas, to take on the University of St. Mary on Saturday, September 9, at 5 p.m. This will be the Pirates final non-conference game of the season, before heading into American Midwest Conference play next week. Park enters the game 1-2, while St. Mary enters the game 2-0-1.
Park hosted Friends University on Wednesday (September 6) at Julian Field. The Pirates beat the Falcons 3-1 for their first win of the season.
Isabel Sullivan has led the way for the Pirates' offense with scoring five goals. The Pirates' Maddy Russell and Emma Chatterton have both scored one goal so far this season. Sullivan and Maria Carvalho both have assisted one goal so far for Park's offense. The Pirates' Sullivan is leading the team with a total of 11 points.
The Spires' offense has had six different players score one goal each this season. St. Mary's offense has also had four players that have assisted one goal each. The Spires' Amanda Martin, Megan McMillen, and Justine Brown have a total of three points so far this season.
The Pirates' Amy Roskell, Alyssa Gregory, and Mercedes Daniels have all appeared in at least one game this season in net. Gregory got the win in the net on for Park against Friends. Gregory, Roskell, and Daniels have combined for a total of 15 saves in the net.
Sara Ruiz-Payan has been in the net for the Spires this season. She has made 12 saves and is averaging 4.00 saves per game. Payan has also only allowed two goals on the Spires' defense.

The Pirates will be back in action on Wednesday, September 13, as they head to St. Louis, Missouri, to take on St. Louis College of Pharmacy in its conference opener.
