PARKVILLE, Mo. - Park University women's soccer makes its first road trip of the season this Saturday, September 2 to take on Graceland University at 12:00 p.m.

The Pirates (0-1-0) open a non-conference doubleheader with the men's team also in town to take on the Yellowjackets in Lamoni, Iowa. Park will return home to Julian Field on Wednesday, September 6 to take on Friends University at 5:00 p.m.

Graceland holds a 10-3-1 advantage in the all-time series against the Pirates, a non-conference rivalry that renews after a two-year hiatus. The last meeting between the teams was September 13, 2014, a 3-1 win for the Yellowjackets, who have won the last 10 matchups between the two teams. The last Park victory took place on Oct. 24, 2002, a 2-0 triumph for the Pirates.

The 2017 season opened for the Pirates on August 27, dropping a 5-2 decision to No. 4-ranked Benedictine College. Isabel Sullivan (JR/Nottingham, England) and Emma Chatterton (SR/Derby, England) scored the goals for the Pirates, while Amy Roskell (JR/Lancashire, England) and Mercedes Daniels (SO/Kansas City, Mo.) evenly split the 90 minutes in goal and combined to record seven saves.

Graceland is unbeaten in three matches so far in 2017, winning its last two contests after a 1-1 draw in its season-opening game at St. Ambrose. Graceland will be playing its third match in five days after posting a 3-2 win over Robert Morris (Ill.) on August 27, followed by a 5-0 win over Simpson (Iowa) two days later.

Isabel Sullivan carried over the late-season productivity from 2016 to the start of this season. Sullivan recorded a goal and seven assists over the final five games of last season, contributing to Park tallies in four of the final five games. The next goal will be the 10th of her career at Park.

With her 55th minute strike against Benedictine, Emma Chatterton raised her career total to 35 goals, good for ninth on the Park all-time list. She is one of two current Pirates in the all-time top 10 as Gabi Severns (SR/Blue Springs, Mo.) has scored 33 goals in 44 games.
