LOUISVILLE, Ky. – On Wednesday, May 24, two members from the Park University softball team were named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association NAIA All-Region accolades. Mallory Land was named to the Midwest Region first-team and Katie Carr was named to the Midwest Region second-team.

Land was named to third base first-team NFCA NAIA All-Region, while Carr was named to first base second-team NFCA NAIA All-Region.

Land finished the season with many different rankings in the NAIA. She was ranked third in NAIA Softball with 0.46 doubles per game, also ranked sixth with a batting average of .485. Land had 64 hits, 45 RBI's and four homeruns on the season. She averaged 1.10 RBI's per game for Park's offense. Land had 37 putouts and 79 assists at third base for the Pirates' defense. Her fielding percentage for the season was .975.

Carr finished the season ranked tenth in NAIA Softball with 7.85 putouts per game for the Pirates' defense. She had 39 hits, 22 RBI's, one homerun and a batting average of .298 on the season. Carr had 322 putouts and 10 assists at first base for the Park's defense. She also had a fielding percentage of .994 for the season.

This award honors softball student-athletes from the Association's six regions with first and second-team recognition. NFCA member coaches from each respective region voted on the teams, and all the honorees now become eligible for selection to the 2017 NFCA NAIA All-American teams.
