ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Third-ranked Park University men's volleyball team will compete in the 2017 NAIA Invitational Tournament in St. Louis, Missouri. The Pirates are heading into pool play on Thursday, April 20. Park is the No. 3 seed and will be meeting the No. 1 seed Grand View University on Thursday, April 20, at 7 p.m. There will be live stats and live video available through the Spartan Digital Network at http://portal.stretchinternet.com/mobap/. The last time the Pirates (23-4) played the Vikings (22-3) was on Saturday, March 4, in Des Moines, Iowa. Park fell to Grand View 3-0 (27-29, 20-25, 21-25). The Pirates beat the Vikings at the beginning season 3-2 (25-27, 25-10, 25-23, 25-27, 15-10) at Breckon Sports Center.

ABOUT PARK UNIVERSITY

Park is ranked second in NAIA Men's Volleyball with 2.48 blocks per set. The team is also ranked third, nationally, with a hitting percentage of .314 and ranked fourth with a total of 250 blocks.

Murilo Pereira is ranked third in NAIA Men's Volleyball with a total of 120 blocks and 1.22 blocks per set. His teammate, Daniel Arteaga, is ranked sixth, nationally, with 367 total kills and ranked eighth with 3.90 kills per set.

Arteaga leads the Pirates' offense in kills, while his teammate, Oscar Tuero, has 245 kills and is averaging 2.50 kills per set. Allain Larroche has assisted 637 kills, while his teammate, Milos Trivunic, has assisted 458 kills. Larroche is averaging 8.61 assists per set, while Trivunic is averaging 4.67 assists per set.

Defensively, Billy Crow has dug up 209 balls, while his teammate, Arteaga, has dug up 155 balls for the Pirates. Tuero has 88 blocks at the net, while his teammate, Arteaga, has 80 blocks at the net for Park's defense.

ABOUT GRAND VIEW UNIVERSITY

Grand View is ranked second in NAIA Men's Volleyball with a hitting percentage of .327 and with 2.48 blocks per set. The Vikings are also ranked third, nationally, with 12.77 kills per set, with 1.64 service aces per set and 11.71 assists per set.

The Vikings' Pedro Cardoso is ranked first in NAIA Men's Volleyball with 0.81 service aces per set and ranked second with a total of 59 service aces. His teammate, Zakir Pasha, is ranked fourth, nationally, with 1.12 blocks per set. The Vikings' Savili Bartley is ranked sixth in NAIA Men's Volleyball with 1.11 blocks per set and a hitting percentage of .421.

Cardoso leads the Vikings' offense with 253 kills, while his teammate, Tim Johnson, has 237 kills. Cardoso is averaging 3.47 kills per set, while Johnson is averaging 3.29 kills per set. The Vikings' Felipe Rosa has assisted 649 kills, while his teammate, Alfredo Batista has assisted 229 kills. Rosa is averaging 10.30 assists per set, while Batista is averaging 3.88 assists per set. Defensively, Steve Harvey has dug up 148 balls, while his teammate, Bartley has had 93 blocks at the net.
