Park faces Williams Baptist in AMC Game of the Week on Saturday. First pitch is set for 12 p.m.
WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. – The No. 23 ranked Park University softball team is hitting the road this weekend to Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, on Saturday, March 18, to take on fifth-ranked Williams Baptist College as the American Midwest Conference Game of the Week. The Pirates' next stop is to Henderson, Tennessee, on Sunday, March 19, as they take on Freed-Hardeman University in an AMC doubleheader.

The Pirates (3-8, 0-0 AMC) are coming off two tough losses to Ottawa University in a non-conference doubleheader on Thursday, March 9. The Pirates fell to the Braves in game one 2-1 and then 4-1 in game two.
ABOUT PARK UNIVERSITY
Mallory Land is ranked first in NAIA Softball with 0.63 doubles per game for the Pirates' offense. Britanee Willard is ranked sixth, nationally, with a batting average of .556 percent for Park. Katie Carr is ranked second in NAIA Softball with 8.72 putouts per game and ranked third with 9.09 chances per game.
Willard leads the team with 15 hits and a slugging percentage of .667. The Pirates' Land has a team high of nine RBI's and she is averaging 0.82 RBI's per game. Willard has stolen five bases so far this season to help the Pirates' offense.
Scotlin Hurley and Shelby Bendure have been splitting time in the circle this season for the Pirates' defense. Hurley has given up 18 earned runs and she is averaging 4.20 earned runs. She has struck out 20 batters and is averaging 4.67 strikeouts per game. Bendure has given up 29 earned runs and she is averaging 6.41 earned runs.
Defensively, Carr has already has 100 putouts and 96 assists at first base for the Pirates, while her teammate, Hailey Costello, has 52 putouts and 18 assists between second base and shortstop.

Coming into the game the fifth-ranked Eagles (8-6, 1-1 AMC) faced Freed-Hardeman University on Friday, March 10 to split the AMC doubleheader. The Lions took game one 2-1 and the Eagles took game two 1-0.
The Eagles are ranked sixth in NAIA Softball with the opponent's batting average of .200. Laura Helmich is ranked seventh, nationally, with 3.45 hits allowed per nine innings.
The Eagles' Madelyn Poe and Ashley Lyons lead the team with 17 hits each. Lyons has a slugging percentage of .488, while her teammate, Poe, has a slugging percentage of .452. The Eagles' Brooke Mason has a team-best of 14 RBI's and she is averaging 1.08 RBI's per game. Poe leaders her team in stolen bases with three so far this season.
Helmich and Rylee Rogers both have been splitting time in the circle for Williams Baptist. Helmich has struck out 22 batters, given up 21 hits and five earned runs. She is averaging 0.82 earned runs per game in the circle for the Eagles. The Eagles' Rogers has struck out 45 batters, given up 35 hits and 14 earned runs. She has also is averaging 7.75 strikeouts per game for the Eagles' defense.
Defensively, Mason has 95 catches and 88 putouts, while her teammate, Bailey Zini, has 79 catches and 67 putouts. Lyons has 29 assists, while her teammate, Karoline Thomas, has 26 assists on defense for Williams Baptist.

Coming into the game the Lions (3-4, 1-1 AMC) faced fifth-ranked Williams Baptist College on Friday, March 10 to split the AMC doubleheader. The Lions took game one 2-1 and the Eagles took game two 1-0.
The Lions are ranked first in NAIA Softball with a fielding percentage of .983. The team is also ranked third, nationally, with 1.19 earned runs average and with an opponent's batting averaging of .193. Makenzie is ranked first in NAIA Softball Division I with 24 innings pitched per game. The Lions' Mallory Spurlock is ranked first, nationally, with one total earned run, with one total runs allowed, second with seven total hits allowed, third with 12.66 innings pitched per game and fifth with averaging .550 earned runs.
Caitlyn Carter leads the Lions hitting with eight hits and a slugging percentage of .348. Annaka Baxter has a team high of five RBI's and she is averaging 0.71 RBI's per game for the Lions' offense.
Spurlock and Prince both have been splitting time in the circle for the Lions' defense. Prince has struck out 28 batters, given up 17 hits and three earned runs. She also is averaging 8.17 strikeouts per game for the Lions. Spurlock has struck out seven batters and given up seven hits.
Defensively, Hannah Wright has 32 catches and 28 putouts for the Lions. Her teammate, Kristen Hunsicker, has 15 assists for the Lions' defense.
