BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Park University men's soccer team traveled to Batesville, Arkansas, to take on Lyon College in the quarterfinals of the 2016 American Midwest Conference game. The Pirates (8-6-2) fell to the Scots (10-7-1) 2-0.

In the first half, both teams were tied 0-0. In the 70th minute, the Scots' Omar Fabila made a pass from the 20 yard-line to find Ullises Caba Cordova. Cordova had a point blank shot to put the Scots up 1-0. In the last minute of the game, the Scots' Nicholas Vasquez found Ali Fawaz to put the Scots up 2-0 over the Pirates.


The Pirates outshot the Scots 18 -12. The Scots did have six of their 12 shots on goal and the Pirates had four shots on goal.


The Pirates' Thalu Masindi played in the net making four saves in the game. The Scots' Gianni Santin picks up the win in the net. Santin made four saves in the game for the Scots.


Park ends the 2016 season with an overall record of 8-6-2, while Lyon (10-7-1) moves in to Tuesday's semifinal round of the American Midwest Conference Championship, traveling to regular-season champion Hannibal-LaGrange University Tuesday afternoon.
