ST. LOUIS – The American Midwest Conference released its soccer postseason brackets, sending Park University on the road Saturday, Nov. 5 in men's soccer, but keeping the Pirates home throughout the playoffs on the women's side after sharing the championship with a tie-breaker to the Pirates over Columbia College.

WOMEN'S SOCCER: The 2016 American Midwest Conference (AMC) women's soccer regular season concluded on Saturday, and it took all six of the day's matches to set the teams and seeds for the upcoming AMC Women's Soccer Championship tournament.

When the dust had settled, the Park University Pirates (11-3-1/11-1 AMC) and Columbia College Cougars (15-1-2/11-1 AMC) each staked their claim to a piece of the AMC regular season title. The Pirates, however, earned the top seed in the AMC Championship, and with it an automatic berth to the NAIA National Championship Opening Round on November 19, thanks to their 2-1 win over Columbia in Parkville, Mo. on September 28. Both Park and Columbia will host matches in the AMC Championship Quarterfinals.

Missouri Baptist University (11-6/9-3 AMC) and Lindenwood University-Belleville (9-6-2/8-2-2 AMC) took the third and fourth seeds respectively, and as a result, the Spartans and Lady Lynx each will also host their quarterfinal matches in the AMC Championship.

The William Woods Owls (8-7-2/7-4-1 AMC) missed out on a home match in the quarterfinal round of the AMC Championship by a single point, and they take the fifth seed. The final three seeds had to wait for the last AMC regular season match of the season to be completed. When Lindenwood-Belleville defeated Harris-Stowe State University (8-9-1/5-6-1 AMC), the final three seeds fell into place, with Williams Baptist College (6-7-2/5-5-2 AMC) securing the sixth seed, Lyon College (5-10-1/5-6-1 AMC) taking the seventh spot, and Harris-Stowe settling in eighth.

The AMC Championship quarterfinals will be contested on Friday, November 4, the semifinals on Monday, November 7, and the championship final on Thursday, November 10. Each match in the AMC Championship will take place on the home field of the higher seed. The winner of the Championship will earn the AMC's second automatic bid to the NAIA National Championship Opening Round, and if Park wins the Championship, the second automatic berth will go to the team who reaches the championship final.

MEN'S SOCCER: The 2016 AMC men's soccer regular season concluded on Saturday, and the determination of the final two seeds in the AMC Men's Soccer Championship were not determined until the final AMC match of the day ended – and even that match needed overtime.

Park did its part to supply the AMC with an overtime finish, but Park's 3-2 win over Freed-Hardeman proved to mean little other than a victory in the Pirates' win column, as Lyon secured the No. 4 seed, forcing Park to travel to Batesville Saturday (Nov. 5) in a rematch of the AMC Game of the Week from Sept. 17.

At the end of the day, the Hannibal-LaGrange University Trojans (11-3-3/10-0-1 AMC) emerged as the AMC's outright champions on the strength of the 3-0 win over Williams Baptist College (5-9-1/4-6-1 AMC) – who qualified for the tournament as the number eight seed. As the AMC's regular season champions, the Trojans have also secured a berth in the NAIA National Championship Opening Round on November 19.

Lindenwood University-Belleville (10-6/9-2 AMC) earned the AMC Championship's second seed with a win coupled with a loss by the Columbia College Cougars (9-6-2/8-1-2 AMC) – which forced the Cougars to settle for the number three seed. The Lyon College Scots (9-7-1/7-4 AMC) defeated the Cougars in the season's final game, and on the strength of that win the Scots took the final home match of the AMC Championship quarterfinal round on a tiebreaker over the Pirates (8-5-2/7-4 AMC).

William Woods University (12-6/6-5 AMC), Missouri Baptist University (5-9-1/5-6 AMC), and Williams Baptist rounded out the field of eight teams.

The AMC Championship quarterfinals will be contested on Saturday, November 5, the semifinals on Tuesday, November 8, and the championship final on Friday, November 11. Each match in the AMC Championship will take place on the home field of the higher seed. The winner of the Championship will earn the AMC's second automatic bid to the NAIA National Championship Opening Round, and if Hannibal-LaGrange wins the Championship, the second automatic berth will go to Lindenwood-Belleville as the AMC's regular season runner up.
