FULTON, Mo. – Emily Key scored her 50th career goal against William Woods University in the 40th minute of the game. With Key's goal, it put the Pirates up 1-0 over the Owls in the first half. Park University played William Woods University in an American Midwest Conference game. The Pirates (10-3-1, 10-1 AMC) beat the Owls (7-7-1, 6-4 AMC) 2-1.
"Great road win," said Park coach Ken Hefner. "One more win in the big picture. We battled very hard and kept our composure and did the things we needed."
The Pirates' Amy Roskell played in the net to pick up the win. She had five saves in the game. The Owls' Rebecca Sturgess played all 90 minutes in the net. She made 11 saves in the game for the Owls.
"We will pay attention to every little detail this week to get prepared for a game we really need to reach our regular season goal," said Hefner.
The Pirates will hit the road for their last regular season game as they travel to Henderson, Tennessee, to take on Freed-Hardeman University in an AMC game on Saturday, October 29.
