PARKVILLE, Mo. – The Park University women's soccer team hosted Lindenwood University-Belleville in an American Midwest Conference game. The Pirates (8-3-2, 8-1 AMC) fell to the Lynx (5-6-2, 4-2-2 AMC) 3-2.
"No doubt we are disappointed," said Park coach Ken Hefner. "Lindenwood University-Belleville played the type of game they needed to win so props to them."
In the 52nd minute, the Lynx' Raven Loughridge took a shot from outside the box to score. Ten minutes later Loughridge scored again to put the Lynx up 2-1 over the Pirates. The Lynx scored again in the 74th minute, when Jessika Stiehr put the ball in the back of the net. In the 84th minute, the Pirates' Chatterton took a shot low to put the Pirates only down by a goal. Chatterton's goal was assisted by Taylor Buckholz.
The Pirates' Amy Roskell and Imogen Bullivant both tended goal for Park, with Roskell credited for one save and Bullivant two. Roskell picked up the loss in the net for the Pirates. The Lynx' Luisa Santillan earned the Lindenwood win with seven saves.
"We will get back to work on Monday to finish the season the right way," Hefner said.
The Pirates will be back in action on Wednesday, October 19, as they travel to Fulton, Missouri, to take on William Woods University in an AMC game.
