The Pirates' Kloster had four assists in the win over the Eutectics.
PARKVILLE, Mo. – Mario Erpel made a pass to the middle of the box to find Nicolas Andre to send the ball in the back of the net to Park University up 1-0 over St. Louis College of Pharmacy. The Pirates (4-4-2, 3-3 AMC) beat the Eutectics (1-8, 0-7 AMC) 9-0 at Julian Field in an American Midwest Conference game.
"I am glad everyone had an opportunity to play and contribute to a good win," said Park coach Efrem Shimlis. "We take any win as we are in the second half of our season and looking to have some confidence."
In the 15th minute, Andre made a pass from the left side of the box to find Erpel to put the ball in the lower left corner. Five minutes later, Erpel scored again but this time he placed it in the lower right corner. Erpel's goal was assisted by Tim Kloster. In the 39th minute, the Pirates' Jackson Willard passed the ball to Austin Generaux to score. Generaux's goal put the Pirates up 4-0 over the Eutectics.
In the 47th minute, Kloster made a pass to the middle of the box to find Momodou Alieu to score the first goal of the second half. The Pirates' Kloster found Momodou to pass the ball to Pedro De Souza to tap the ball in the net. De Souza's goal put the Pirates up 6-0. In the 62nd minute, Kloster found Thomas Murphy to score for the Pirates. Four minutes later, Rodolfo made a pass through the middle to find De Souza to drill one in the net. The Pirates' Austin Johnson scored his first collegiate goal and finished out the scoring for the Pirates.
The Pirates' Luis Torres picks up the win and the shutout in the net. The Eutectics' Alex Foote played in the net and made seven saves in the game.
The Pirates will be back in action on Tuesday, October 11, as they travel to St. Louis, Missouri, to take on Missouri Baptist University in an AMC game. There will be live stats and live video available at Pirate Sports Network at www.parkathletics.com. The start time is set for 1 p.m.
